Defrag Comparisons: Perfect Disk 12 Review

Posted In Featured, Software - By Luke On Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 With 0 Comments

Well this is the second in a multi-part review of Perfect Disk 12 and Ultimate Defrag 3. I’ve had multiple request about when I was going to be done with this, so I stuck with it last night late until I got this completed. It seems both groups from either side of this are highly spirited towards their own defragger of choice. So maybe this will swing some or confirm the others thought. Either way judging by the spirit of some of these guys I’ll probably either end up making friends or enemies with some of them haha.

So lets get rolling-

About The Company

Raxco software produces Perfect Disk 12, and they are one of the most knowledgeable companies when it comes to producing a product of this type. With 30 years of  award winning defragmentation solutions and performance utilities, they have made the life of system and server administrators as well as home users a like, lives much easier. Some of the industries most respected publications and organizations have given them top reviews:

Best Defrag Software

Consistently Raxco has been the first to support and recieve certification on the latest Windows versions, including Windows 7, Vista, Windows Server 2008, and that’s just to name a few. As they phrase it in their About Us Page:

Perfect Disk products provide innovative defragmentation features and a host of customizable administration tools, making Perfect Disk the industries leading defragmentation solution.

Key Features:

There are several features Raxco has placed into this product which can be very handy for users under certain circumstances. And depending on what and how you setup your installation of Perfect Disk 12 Professional they advertise you will see:

  • Faster web browsing and download
  • Better photo and video editing experience
  • Maximize streaming media performance
  • S.M.A.R.T. monitoring of physical drives
  • Advanced reporting and setting control features
  • Designed for today’s power user looking for optimum PC performance

I think it’s easy to conclude this is exactly what you expect ANY disk defragmentation software to do, but with the inclusion of technologies such as ‘OptiWrite’ does perfect disk bring the perfect mix of options to the playing field to make it shine above the rest?

What’s New?

I’m sure there are a few of you guys out there that current use Perfect Disk 11 or maybe even 12 and are sitting there staring into the purchase screen wondering if it’s worth the extra expenditure to purchase an upgrade. Some of you are wondering what new features could be brought to a disk deframentation suite that would make it worthwhile to  even purchase Perfect Disk 12 to begin with. They have stepped into their new edition with a pretty strong set of features and options that I think would stand out to quite a few people, especially some of you with SSDs!

  • OptiWrite
  • SSD Optimization
  • Stealth Patrol
  • Advanced Boot Time Defrag
  • New Dynamic Zone Engine
  • Improved User Experience

So lets jump right in and see what it’s all about and if it lives up to the press releases and hype from around the web!
